Who we are

Appalachian Contracting is the trade name of Appalachian Roof Restoration LLC, a licensed North Carolina general contractor (NC License #109293) at 33 Riverview Street, Franklin, NC 28734. When this policy says “we,” “us” or “our,” that’s who it means.

This policy covers www.appalachianroofingwnc.com and the calls, texts and emails that come out of it.

What we collect

When you ask for an estimate

Our estimate form asks for the kind of work you need, the town your property is in, your name, your phone number and, if you want to give it, your email. We also see which page you sent the form from.

One thing worth knowing: if you enter your name and phone number and then leave the page before pressing the button, the form still sends us what you entered so we can follow up. If you’d rather we didn’t call, tell us and we’ll remove it.

How you found us

When you send the form, it also tells us how you got here: whether you came from a Google search, one of our ads, Facebook or somewhere else, the first page you landed on, which pages you looked at, roughly how long you were on the site, whether you’ve visited before, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. If you clicked one of our Google ads, it includes the ad click ID.

That information is kept in your own browser’s storage while you look around. It only reaches us if you send the form.

When you call, text or email us

We get your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us or send us, including any photos of your property.

When we do work for you

If you hire us, we also keep what the job requires: your property address, the project details, photos of the work and billing records.

What gets collected automatically

Like nearly every website, ours records some things without you typing anything: the pages you view, what you click, how far you scroll, the site that sent you here, your general location (city level, not your street address), and your device and browser type. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the time of each request.

What we don’t ask for

We never ask for a credit card number, bank account or Social Security number through this website. Please don’t send those through the form or by text.

How we use it

• To call, text or email you back, set up a time to look at your property, and write your estimate.
• To do the work you hire us for and stand behind it afterward.
• To see which pages and which ads actually lead to calls, so we can fix what isn’t working on the site.
• To keep spam out of the form and keep the site running and secure.
• To meet our licensing, tax and legal record-keeping obligations.

Cookies and tracking tools

These are the tools running on this site and what each one does. We don’t send your name, phone number or email address to Google or Microsoft through any of them.

Google Analytics

Counts visits and shows us which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from the next.

Google Ads conversion tracking

If you clicked one of our Google ads, this tells us whether that click turned into a phone call or an estimate request. It sets a cookie to connect the two.

Google Tag Manager

Loads the Google tools above. It doesn’t collect anything on its own.

Microsoft Clarity

Shows us how visitors move through the site using heatmaps and session replays: where people click, tap and scroll, and where they get stuck. It uses cookies and similar technology to do that. Microsoft explains how it handles this data in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Google Fonts and the Google “preferred source” button

The typefaces on this site and the “preferred source” button load from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads, the same as any site you visit.

Our own “how you found us” script

Described above. It uses your browser’s storage, not cookies, and nothing leaves your browser unless you send the form.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work. Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and you can manage ad settings at Google My Ad Center. Our site does not currently change how it behaves in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your information to anyone. We share it only with:

• Our own team, meaning the people who answer your call, walk your property and do the work.
• The companies that help us run this website and deliver your request: our website host (SiteGround), our marketing company (Parr Marketing), which built and manages the site and receives a copy of each form submission to make sure it reaches us, the email and automation services that carry the form to our inbox (Google and Make), and Google and Microsoft for the tools listed above.
• Subcontractors and suppliers on your project, such as the licensed plumbers and electricians who work under us, and only what they need to do the job.
• Building departments, when your project needs a permit.
• Your insurance company, if you ask us to work with them on a claim.
• Courts or government agencies, when the law requires it.
• A new owner, if we ever sell or merge our company. Your information would stay covered by this policy.

Text messages and phone calls

If you give us your phone number, we use it to call or text you about your estimate or your project: scheduling, questions and updates.

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your phone plan. If you don’t want texts from us, tell us by text, phone or email and we’ll stop.

How long we keep it

We keep estimate requests and project records for as long as we need them to do the work, stand behind it, and meet our tax, licensing and legal record-keeping requirements. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in each of those tools.

How we protect it

This site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in a part of our server that is blocked from public access, and only our team and the service providers listed above can reach them.

No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise absolute security. If we ever learn of a breach involving your information, we’ll notify you as North Carolina law requires.

Your choices

• See, correct or delete what we have. Call or email us and we’ll take care of it, unless the law requires us to keep a record, such as a signed contract or an invoice.
• Stop hearing from us. Tell us and we’ll stop calling, texting or emailing you.
• Turn off tracking. Use the cookie and opt-out options listed above.

We’ll honor these requests wherever you live.

Children

This site is meant for adult property owners. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Links to other sites

This site links to our Facebook page, Google Maps and our Google reviews. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don’t control what they collect.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top.
